It’s about time! Toyota will be adding the sporty SE trim to their popular hybrid model. The Camry SE trim has been by far the most popular trim on the 7th generation Camry. The SE trim first appeared on Camry during the 3rd Generation (SXV10/VCV10/MCV10) when it followed the Taurus-sized sedan fray. This is a welcome addition to the Camry as the hybrid variants were only limited to LE and XLE trim. The 2AR-FE 2.5L 4 cylinder engine pumps out a total system output of 200 horsepower and an EPA rating of 40 MPG. This is more power and efficiency than the first Camry V6 model in 1987. The VZV21 chassis  had a 2VZ-FE 2.5L V6 with a whopping 160 horsepower.

This SE Limited Edition will have best features of the Camry Hybrid XLE and more:

• Camry SE front fascia, headlights, side rockers, rear valance, rear bumper, rear spoiler, and 17-inch wheels with low profile tires to embolden this sedan’s exterior.

•  The Camry Hybrid SE’s interior is also equipped with the four-spoke, leather-trimmed, steering wheel, silver interior trim, instrument panel, center stack trim, and  front and rear seats from the Camry SE grade.

For those that have been wanting a Camry SE but the efficiency of the hybrid version, this is your car! Only 5,000 of the SE Limited Edition will be made starting this month and end in June of this year. There will be two packages available. $27,845 for the standard Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition and an upgrade package with additional options for $2,215 more. Hopefully the Avalon Hybrid will adopt a package like this. Avalon Hybrid SE sounds good to me.

TORRANCE, Calif., (Feb. 4, 2014) – With a 40 mpg EPA city rating and expressive sport styling, the new Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition offers fans of America’s best-selling car an exciting new variant for the 2014.5 model year. This limited edition model combines many of the popular Camry SE grade’s desirable appearance features with the renowned efficiency of Toyota Hybrid Synergy drive.  The new Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition is powered by a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and hybrid system with nickel metal hydride battery that yields a total system output of 200hp.

Building on the Camry XLE Hybrid’s equipment level, the new Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition adds:

• Camry SE front fascia, headlights, side rockers, rear valance, rear bumper, rear spoiler, and 17-inch wheels with low profile tires to embolden this sedan’s exterior.
•  The Camry Hybrid SE’s interior is also equipped with the four-spoke, leather-trimmed, steering wheel, silver interior trim, instrument panel, center stack trim, and  front and rear seats from the Camry SE grade.

The Hybrid SE will be available in the full palette of Camry SE exterior and interior hues while unique
badging will identify these special vehicles.

The 2014.5 Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition arrives in showrooms later this month with an MSRP of $27,845.  An available upgrade package ($2215) includes a moonroof and Display Audio with Navigation and Entune Apps Suite. Production of the Camry Hybrid SE Limited Edition will run from February to June of 2014 and will be limited to 5000 units.
