Toyota Motor Corporation has recently announced changes to their executive staff which becomes effective April 1, 2014. The biggest news in this latest round of management shuffle is the promotion of Toyota’s Global Head of Design and Lexus International Executive Vice President Tokuo Fukuichi. He will now assume role as the new President of Lexus Interational. Fukuichi-san will also gain a seat on the Board of Directors as a senior managing officer. The chief designer has been responsible for iconic Toyota designs including the Previa, Alphard and the Tundra full-size pickup truck. He replaces outgoing President Kiyotaka Ise who will now be the chief officer for the R&D Group. Ise-san will continue to oversee the Sports Vehicle Management Division.
Mark Templin who is one of two VPs will now report to his former VP cohort Fukuichi-san. Taking Fukuichi-san’s former VP spot will be Takashi Yamamoto, who is an Executive chief engineer in the product planning group. He was the chief engineer for the Avensis and the latest Crown. Osamu Sadakata, who was the chief engineer of the Lexus CT is now the General Manager of Vehicle Evaluation & Engineering Field at the Higashi-Fuji Technical Center.
