So what’s the deal? More LFA news in one day! When we first experienced the LFA back in Miami at the LFA Press Event in October 2009, we were told the Bridgestone tires on the LFA was a prototype and was to be named later down the road. On the sidewall, it would read “Bridgestone” and the tire size, but the model name was absent. Because of the LFA’s supercar status, it would need a specific performance tire to help the 552 hp carbon fiber monster to stay glued to the pavement. Recently there has been a long on going discussion on Club Lexus about what tires the LFA will come with. Just a few months ago, Lexus received its delivery of the second LFA in their fleet, a Pearl Yellow LFA which is supposed to be the 14th LFA prototype made in the world. This LFA was installed with Bridgestone Potenza S001 (which is depicted in the photos below), which is their latest flagship tire. Bridgestone tires are also OE spec for the other “F” car, the IS F (as well as the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2). The 19″ BBS wheels feautre a Lexus-spec Potenza RE050A. We should be hearing more info the LFA tire announcement in the coming days.
