Lexus has just announced plans to open a “Lexus Racing” booth at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon next week in Japan. Lexus will feature a new vehicle they plan to race in the GT 500 class of the Super GT. It was previously announced that the Lexus LF-CC Super GT Concept Race Car, now the Lexus RC GT Race Car will replace the 0utgoing Lexus SC in the GT 500 class. To help strengthen Lexus’ newfound ties to arts and design, they have hired fashion designer Okonogo Tatsuya and stylist Yoshiyuki Shimazu to build this year’s display in a monochromatic theme.
It’s interesting to see that the booth rendering Lexus posted depicts a vehicle that appears be an LFA with a large GT-style wing. Does this mean Lexus plans to field the LFA as well? We’ll find out this coming Friday!
